When you read a title like that, you probably think: “Handbags at dawn, ladies!”, because he phrase “bloggers going to war” generally means two sissies are about to insult each other in their comment’s sections. The folks at Pajamasmedia are where the actual fighting is.

With full-time editors in Sydney, Barcelona and Los Angeles working with contributing bloggers worldwide in such places as Tel Aviv, Haifa, Baghdad and Washington, Pajamas Media has been offering round-the-clock battlefield reporting in tandem with the most thoughtful commentary from the global blogosphere and traditional sources. Under the guidance of Editor-in-Chief Gerard Van der Leun in Seattle, Pajamas Media mixes the best news and views from on-the-scene citizen journalists with seasoned professionals in an unprecedented manner.
Dare I call this blogging at its’ best? This is a chance for the new media to shine and to give people unique perspectives from a major human event that wouldn’t have been possible even a few short years back.
Bloggers have become more prominent everywhere, and even war zones are no exception, but I think Pajamas Media has done a heck of a job in making the current Israel/Hezbollah conflict accessible to the average person. That can only help educate people in some way.
Of particular interest is the blog Live from an Israeli Bunker, written by 17 year old Eugene from Haifa, who’s living with the bombardment.
These are intersting times and one interesting application of blogging.
