For a long period of time, it looked like the disappearance of Natalee Holloway in Aruba would remain a cold case. But in the last few days, news is emerging that points the finger at one of the prime suspects, and might even solve the case.
The case has been re-opened by the prosecutor in Aruba, based on information from Dutch reporter Peter R. de Vries.
Reporter Peter R. de Vries said he used a sophisticated network of hidden cameras in what he called an “undercover operation” to obtain evidence that he claimed “has solved the mystery” of Holloway’s disappearance on May 30, 2005.
Hans Mos, Arubane lead prosecuture, said he has “intensified [the] investigation of Natalee Holloway due to recently received information.”
The investigation had been closed.
“This information may shed a new light on the mode of which Natalee Holloway has died and the method by which her body disappeared,” Mos said.
De Vries had interviewed Joran Van Der Sloot, the prime suspect on TV this month. Van Der Sloot appeared unperturbed by the questioning he was receiving from De Vries, but angrily threw a glass of wine at the reporter when off camera.
