So far baseball legend Roger Clemens has been able to skate on thin ice, and avoid any real trouble concerning performance enhancing drugs. But now charges are hitting very close to home.
Brian McNamee has testified that he injected Debbie Clemens five years ago when she was preparing herself for a Sports Illustrated swim suit photo shoot. Worse news for Roger Clemens, McNamee says the pitcher knew all about it.
McNamee testified during his Capitol Hill deposition Thursday that he injected Debbie Clemens at her husband’s direction, the Daily News said on its website, citing an unidentified Washington source.
Citing a source with knowledge of the testimony, Newsday reported that McNamee said he injected Debbie Clemens in the master bedroom of the Clemenses’ Houston estate and that he also testified that Roger Clemens urged his wife to take HGH because it would be good for her career as a fitness expert. According to Newsday’s source, McNamee said it took Clemens four days to convince his wife to take the drug, which is injected through the stomach, because Debbie Clemens was afraid of the effects. According to Newsday’s source, Debbie Clemens took HGH to prepare for the swimsuit photo shoot, in which she stood over her husband wearing a bikini.
Lawyers for Roger Clemens called McNamee a “liar.”
