Coupon Mom

Coupon Mom is the newest idea to help save consumers money.

Coupon Mom basically uses coupons to achieve the savings.

When you get your Sunday paper you will follow the steps below:

1) Remove relevant store ads and coupon inserts and date the inserts with a marker on the front. You will put the date and the code for the insert distributor (see “key” below), (i.e. “3/2 SS”)

2) Slip the inserts into a page protector. Note: you may opt to use the address labels to label the outsides of the page protectors instead of writing on them.

3) Slip all the store ads into a single page protector at the back of your notebook. You will want to keep the Sunday ads separate from the Wednesday ads (if your area has both) for ease of reference.

It may be helpful to you if you glance through the coupons and the sales fliers each week but you DO NOT need to clip the coupons (YET)!

Doesn’t sound too difficult. Visit Coupon Mom for more details.

First Day Of Spring

March 20, 2008 – 8:43 am

Today is the first official day of spring. The reason I can tell is because my calendar says so. If I had to judge based on looking out my window I would not think this is the first day of Spring.

In fact, it looks more like a typical day in the Winter. But anyways, I rejoice at the notion that the long and brutal Winter may be ending.

Hail Spring!

Vicki Van Meter

March 18, 2008 – 4:53 pm

Vicki Van Meter has committed suicide by shooting herself. She was the youngest pilot ever to cross the U.S., when she did it as a young girl. Unhappiness is the reason cited for her recent actions.

Van Meter died Saturday and her body was found in her Meadville home on Sunday.

Her brother said she battled depression and opposed medication, but her family thought she had been dealing with her problems.

“She was unhappy, but it was hard for her to open up about that and we all thought that she was coping,” Daniel Van Meter said. “This really is a shock, because we didn’t see the signs.”

Vicki Van Meter was 26.

Irish Blessing

March 17, 2008 – 8:33 am

Time for an Irish Blessing. Here’s one of my favorite blessings from my 100% Irish American background.

“May you be in Heaven a half hour before the Devil knows you’re dead.”

That one is another of my favorites. Enjoy St. Patrick’s Day.

Unblocking MySpace, Facebook, Bebo, And Hi5

March 6, 2008 – 6:52 pm

Unblocking MySpace, Facebook, Bebo and Hi5. It isn’t difficult, in the end. Basically all you need is to find a decent free proxy server, which hasn’t been banned yet by network admins.

Once you find the proxy, you simply enter the address of MySpace, Facebook, Bebo, or Hi5 and off you go. Of course surfing will be a bit slower than if you weren’t using a proxy.

Here are some of my favorite proxy and unblocker servers:

They were all working last time I checked, but that could change in a hurry.

The U.S. Government has flooded the Grand Canyon with 50,000,000 gallons of water in the hope of restoring the eco-system of the National Park.

This is the third time in the 30 year history of the Grand Canyon they have used this technique.

Queen of England

March 4, 2008 – 8:45 am

Interesting news about the Queen of England today. It turns out she’ll be fighting the terrorists in Iraq. It seems she has been inspired by the heroics of her apple-haired grandson Prince Harry, and has decided to kick some terrorist ass.

In a move sure to shock a deeply cynical and sceptical Nation, Elizabeth II, The Queen of England, is to mobilise her long forgotten chariot and lead her troops to battle. Inspired by her mad-fer-action soldier Grandson, Prince Harry, The Queen told reporters that she had been in the the Royal Garage looking for an errant Corgi (later to be found cornering an simpering Equerry) when she pulled back the tarpaulin of a large object in a long forgotten corner. Under the cover was Queen Boudica’s original chariot, an important cultural symbol of the enduring spirit of Britain and it’s proud military history.

It’s great to see that the Queen hasn’t forgotten about tradition as she heads into this thoroughly modern battle. I’m sure this is bound to inspire billions globally to join the cause.
